CHALLENGING THE CONSTITUTIONALITY OF THE DRMA AND PUBLIC ORDER ACT IN JAMAICA
The United Independents' Congress of Jamaica is the country's third registered political party and a movement which has brought before the Supreme Court of Jamaica, a challenge to the dictatorial powers of the Jamaican Government. The UIC's President was arrested by the ruling JLP Government of Jamaica for exercising his natural-born human rights and freedom to peacefully assemble.

TIMELINE LEADING UP TO COURT CHALLENGE
AUGUST - SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2021
UIC Jamaica held five peaceful walks for liberty. These were to demonstrate our dissent towards the actions of the Jamaican Government and members of the Private Sector who were coercing Jamaicans into a medical decision without providing them the opportunity of INFORMED consent. The Walks for Liberty took place on different days at Heroes Circle, Portmore Mall, Spanish Town, Maypen, and Mandeville.
SEPTEMBER 16TH, 2021
Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced his intention to implement mandatory "vaccination" for every Jamaican.
SEPTEMBER 22ND, 2021
UIC Jamaica lead a peaceful march to Gordon House as part of its appeal to the Jamaican Government to cease in its attempt to force, bribe or coerce Jamaicans into taking the COVID-19 injection, or resign and trigger an election.
During this March, UIC President Joseph L. Patterson, and three other innocent Jamaicans were arrested for having exercised their natural-born rights at a peaceful march. The Jamaica Constabulary Force attempted to hold the UIC President in jail for the 15 days leading up to his first court hearing which was scheduled for October 7, 2021. This however drew the ire of the public and paired with the work of the UIC's competent legal team, the President and all who were arrested with him, were all released within three days.
On this day, Jamaicans came to realize that the UIC is the only political movement fighting for their rights. Because of the UIC's actions on this day, the Andrew Holness-led Government backed away from explicitly mandating the COVID-19 injection.
SEPTEMBER 24TH
The Jamaica Constabulary Force announced to the public that they were examining video footage of the march to identify and arrest other law-abiding Jamaicans for having expressed and exercised their natural-born rights.
SEPTEMBER 25TH
UIC launched a legal defence fund via GoFundMe at the urging of the Jamaican Diaspora for all four persons arrested on September 22nd and any innocent person arrested by the JCF after the 24th concerning the peaceful protest.
OCTOBER 7TH
UIC President and co-accused faced the court for breaches of the unconstitutional DRMA and Public Order ACT, but skillfully re-directed the charges at the Government for breaching our constitutional rights.
OCTOBER 13TH
UIC President stood alone as he faced the court for breaches of the unconstitutional DRMA and Public Order ACT, concerning the Mandeville Walk for Liberty, but again, skillfully re-directed the charges at the Government for breaching our constitutional rights.
OCTOBER 14TH
UIC Jamaica rolled out the "ALL ARE WELCOME" campaign to encourage businesses to welcome all persons, regardless of their medical status, to do business with them.

QUESTIONS ASKED
-
IS THE UIC ANTI-VACCINE?
The UIC is not anti-vaccine nor pro-vaccine, we are pro-choice. Many of our members are vaccinated with real vaccines, such as polio, measles, etc and others have taken the COVID-19 injection, some by choice and others becuase they were coerced into doing so. We respect the decision of anyone who freely, with informed consent chooses to undergo any medicat procedure. -
WAS THE MARCH AN ANTI-VAXX MARCH?
Thhe media spread this misinformation. As you have guesses already, this is not true. The March on Gordon House was an anti-mandatory vaccine, anti-lockdown and anti-curfew march. -
WHO ARE YOU ASKING TO CONTRIBUTE?
The gofundme and paypal that was created for the legal defence funds are for diaspora members who have difficulties contributing to our legal defence. Commerical banks in Jamaica have been giving the UIC a difficult time for 10 years to create a bank account. We therefore have to resort to creative and legal ways to recieve funding locally and abroad. -
HOW MUCH DOES A CONSTITUTIONAL CHALLENGE COST?
Constituational challenges can be expensive, especially as the amount of persons added to that challenge increases. We've been told that cases like these may cost upworkds of JMD$20 Million when all expenses are accounted for. We have raised enough funds so far to get us through the last two court cases, but still require the help of contributors to ensure that we can afford the constitutional challenge at the Supreme Court. -
WHY DO YOU NEED OTHERS TO PAY FOR YOUR COURT CASE?
If this were a case to simply answer charges, that concern would be fully appreciated and understood. However, this is a constitutional case, meaning that its a case for all Jamaicans. When the Government of Jamaica did what it did, it infringed upon all of our rights. A win at the supreme court is a win for all Jamaicans.
